As of September 1, 2009, Dr. Feridun Hamdullahpur became the new Vice-President, Academic & Provost at the University of Waterloo. Previously, Dr. Hamdullahpur served as Interim Provost and Vice-President (Academic) at Carleton University.
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre welcomed Dr. Kevin Imrie as the new Chief, Department of Medicine on September 1, 2009. Dr. Imrie came to this position from the University of Toronto, where he was Associate Dean, Admissions & Evaluations for Postgraduate Medical Education and Vice-Chair of Education, Department of Medicine.
The new Chief Executive Officer for the Canadian Paralympic Committee is Mr. Henry Storgaard, who assumed the role on August 17, 2009. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Canadian division of APCO Worldwide.
The new CEO at the National Arts Centre Foundation is Ms Jane Watson, who assumed the role on August 10, 2009. Previously, Ms Watson served as the National Arts Centre’s Director of Communications and Public Affairs, as well as Corporate Secretary to the NAC Board of Trustees.
The University of Toronto Scarborough has a new Vice-Principal (Academic) & Dean. Dr. Rick Halpern began in this role on July 1, 2009. Previously, Dr. Halpern was the Principal of New College at the University of Toronto’s main campus.
On July 1, 2009, Ms Ingrid Parent stepped into the role of University Librarian at The University of British Columbia. Formerly, Ms Parent was Assistant Deputy Minister, Documentary Heritage Collection Sector at Library and Archives Canada.
Bishop’s College School has a new Head of School. Mr. Ian Watt assumed the role on July 1, 2009. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Watt was Head of Senior School at Trinity College School.
The new Vice-President, Administration & Finance at Vancouver Island University is Patricia Eagar, who assumed the role on February 2, 2009. Previously, she served as Vice President, Finance and Administration at Athabasca University.
Women’s College Hospital has a new Vice-President, Women’s College Research Institute. Dr. Paula Rochon began in this role on February 1, 2009. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Rochon was Geriatrician and Senior Scientist, Kunin-Lunenfeld Applied Research Unit at Baycrest.
Mohawk College welcomed Rob MacIsaac as the new President on February 1, 2009. Mr. MacIsaac came to this position from Metrolinx, where he was Chairman.
The new Director of the National Gallery of Canada is Marc Mayer, who assumed the role on January 19, 2009. Previously, he served as Directeur, Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal.
Anita Comella began her new appointment as Assistant Dean, Co-Curricular Physical Activity and Sport at the University of Toronto on January 12, 2009. Prior to this, Ms. Comella was Acting Director, Sport and Recreation at the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion.
Beginning January 5, 2009, Lon Knox began the role of University Secretary/Secretary to the Board of Governors at Trent University. Formerly, Mr. Knox was Senior Solicitor of The Corporation of the City of Oshawa.
